Geophysical Products and its Types


The seismic wavefield is measured by the geophones or hydrophones. Their output is electrical signals. Geophones are used to monitor velocity, which consists of a magnetic core, surrounded by an electric coil where the magnetic core is attached to the housing and moves with it using delicate leaf springs; the coil is attached to the housing. 


The housing moves but the coil tends to stay stationary as the ground vibrates. Movement of the magnet within the coil induces an electrical current that’s calibrated to the velocity of vibration. Geophones can only monitor frequencies above their natural frequency, up to a specified spurious frequency. Different types of Geophysical Products are:

VL Land String

An ideal product for land oil exploration is the VL Land String Series which is distinguishes itself through its excellent performance. It features a lightweight design, stable and reliable parameters, easy handling and is structurally strong. For all kinds of complex land exploration, the VL series is suitable. In mineral exploration, oil exploration and engineering exploration the VL Series is widely used.

VM Marsh String

The VM is a new seismic geophone string series usable in marshland. This series is developed independently by Sunfull. The VM series has good water resistance. Its insulation resistance is no less than 200MΩ after being exposed for 48 hours in 6 meters or even deeper water. The VM series has a unique advantage to oil exploration in all kinds of shallow water areas, because of its compact size, lightweight design, and low distortion.

VW Submersible String

Developed by SUNFULL independently and is patented, the VW is a new submersible string series. Its water resistance and easy use in all kinds of water environments is the main advantage of this string, which is especially suitable for shallow and coastal water no deeper than 15 meters. Hydrospaces that are not suitable for a hydrophone could be equipped with this VW series. The VW series has proved to be successful in dam prospecting, oil exploration, and state inspection. After being submerged in seawater at 15 meters for 48 hours, the insulation resistance of the VW series is no less than 200 MΩ.

VHL 3 & VHL 5 Component

VHL series land 3-component geophone string is one of our latest designs to provide a practical solution for the requirement of multi-component data acquisition. The main features are low distortion, wonderful water resistance, perfect damping, high sensitivity, good linear response, etc. It can provide a favorable performance of earth surface coupling, whatever being used in silt, marsh or lose sandlot area. The general synchronic frequency of geophone is between 8Hz and 40Hz.
